Hi Everyone, wow we are already one month into our year and what a start we've had into our next decade. We are all aware of the devastating bush fires & unusual weather patterns that we have been experiencing. Although this has been an extremely stressful & heartbreaking experience for many, it has been truly amazing and uplifting seeing the goodwill in the local & global community reaching out and supporting the devastated communities.
We were holidaying up in Tathra and witnessed first hand at our normally beautiful holiday spot was smoked logged with blackened embers in the air. We were very lucky & not in any immediate danger but knew our holiday would be cut short. Our route home was already blocked & also our alternate route. Luckily our alternative route reopened & we begun our long trip home. I must say again how impressed I was by the local communties, tathra was one of the evacuation points for batemans bay & bermagui & all the small towns & camping spots in-between. We always felt fully informed & supported. Luckily for us we made it home safely.
